VIL Engineer

The Role:

Responsible for performing manual Vehicle-in-the-Loop (VIL) testing to validate software functionality in automotive environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute manual VIL test cases on VIL setups.
• Prepare vehicles in the VIL rigs for testing by ensuring correct SW on required nodes.
• Document test results and report issues in fault management systems.
• Collaborate with CI and integration teams to ensure smooth test execution.
• Support troubleshooting during test failures.
• Daily Sync & Alignment: Join daily meetings with the CI Nurse team to review master branch status, fault reports, and upcoming changes.
• Merge Request Management: Assess and prioritize merger requests based on impact, readiness, and stakeholder input for efficient integration.
• Communication & Reporting: Provide timely updates on master health, branch status, blockers, and progress toward software milestones to SPMs and IPMs.
• CI Stability & Optimization: Ensure technical components of the CI system function correctly, remove impediments, and collaborate with development, testing, and release teams to maintain a stable integration flow.

Required Skills:

• Experience in automotive testing and VIL environments.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, and automotive communication protocols.
• Familiarity with test tools such as Vector CANoe/CAPL.
• Good understading of Vector VT Systems and RT modules.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Python and/or CAPL for test automation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Zuul).
