Roddtränare/Rowing Coach

Akademiska Roddföreningen (ARF) is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Part-Time Rowing Coach to support our diverse and ambitious rowing community. Our club includes students and young professionals from around the world, ranging from beginners to competitive athletes, including members of the Swedish national team. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about rowing, athlete development, and fostering a positive, inclusive training environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety procedures are followed during all water sessions,

Create and adjust training plans based on crew needs and seasonal goals,

Help prepare crews for racing: boat selection, race strategy, feedback sessions,

Participate in occasional club meetings, events, or training camps (when available),

Collaborate with team captains and the board to set goals and support club development,

Assist with erg sessions during winter training.

Qualifications

Experience as a coach or competitive rower,

Excellent command of English (club members are international; Swedish is not required),

Ability to coach rowers at different levels—from novices to competitive athletes,

Knowledge of rowing technique, safety standards, and basic boat maintenance,

Strong communication skills and leadership qualities,

Reliability and a positive, motivating coaching style.
